• RICHARD M. KUCHINSKY, A.I.A. Founder and President Emeritus

  Richard Kuchinsky founded PDA in 1985, long before the design/build concept became popular. As a highly respected architect, he had the foresight to recognize that bridging the gap between design and construction would strengthen end results. Under his leadership, PDA has grown into the highly respected and successful architectural firm that it is today. Mr. Kuchinsky continues to be an active member of PDA’s board of directors and serves in a consulting role for many of the organization’s current projects.

• ROBERT A. GIFFORD, R.A. Executive Vice President

  Robert Gifford brings more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of building design and construction to his role as executive vice president of PDA. With this strong and diverse background, Mr. Gifford possesses a unique, in-depth understanding of every element of the facility building process, which places him in an ideal position to ensure that each project is brought to a successful completion, down to the smallest detail.

• DENNIS J. MCCARTHY, A.I.A. Director of Design

  As Director of Design at PDA, Dennis McCarthy is responsible for maintaining a consistent aesthetic vocabulary for all our projects. Mr. McCarthy leads the architectural team through all project phases – from design concept through construction completion. Mr. McCarthy works closely with clients determining their functional needs, branding goals, and defining facility requirements.

• STEPHEN E. ARCHIBALD, A.I.A. Senior Project Architect

  Stephen Archibald brings more than 30 years of experience in developing complex and process-intensive biotechnology, medical and laboratory facilities to his role at PDA. He provides strong leadership to our integrated project team of professional architects and engineers, and his expert oversight extends to all project elements.

• DAVID A. JOHNSON, P.E., LEED® AP Director of Structural Engineering

  David Johnson is PDA’s Director of Structural Engineering. Through his practical approach and his years of experience, he has gained a level of expertise that extends far beyond structural considerations. He demonstrates an in-depth understanding of multiple building systems, which leads to even more efficient structural designs. In his role, Mr. Johnson has created a truly integrated team -- a team whose members’ cumulative knowledge addresses clients’ every need.
